Turn power off and unplug, raise the needle and foot, remove the hook cover plate, open the hook cover, pull the case latch and take the bobbin case straight out; release the latch to drop the bobbin from the case.
This is the documented removal procedure; the adjacent exclusive-bobbin sentence names base model 1600P and does not establish a DB/DBX bobbin specification.
With power off, route thread through the guide behind the thread-guide bar, under the winding-tension disk, and through the bobbin hole from inside to outside. Align the notch with the spindle spring, seat the bobbin and move the stopper left. After setup is complete and hands are clear, turn power on, hold the free end and press the winding button for several turns; stop, cut near the hole, then restart. Winding stops automatically when full.
Complete all threading and bobbin placement with power off. Turn power on only after setup is complete and hands are clear; return the stopper, cut the thread and remove the bobbin when winding is done. The dedicated motor permits winding while stitching, but this does not relax the safe setup sequence.
Place the bobbin so thread winds clockwise, draw thread through the case slit, under the tension spring and through the opening, and leave about 10 cm; it should spin clockwise when thread is pulled.
This procedure does not establish bobbin class, material, dimensions or MPN.
