Use a purpose-appropriate needle: universal for general fabrics, stretch for flexible knits and related materials, embroidery for embroidery or decorative specialty threads, denim for tightly woven fabrics, and wing for entredeux or hemstitches on natural fibers.
Match the needle to the thread, fabric type, and fabric weight; no one listed type is universal for every project.
How does the documented presser foot detach and attach?

Native snap-on feet. The documented foot snaps onto its holder: press the foot downward to disengage it; to attach, align the foot pins with the gap under the holder and press upward until the foot snaps into place.

Does the owner need to lubricate the machine?: No owner lubrication or oiling is needed.
How should the bobbin area be cleaned safely?: Turn off the machine first. Remove the presser foot and bobbin cover, lift off the needle plate with the supplied screwdriver, and brush the feed teeth. Important: For all work with the IDT™System, use

presser foot to extra high position. Press the
IDT™System down until it engages.
Note: Your machine is equipped with an IDT sensor. You will
be alerted if the IDT System isn’t set according to the stitch
recommendations for the selected stitch.

fingers at the ribbed ankle. Pull the IDT™system down,
then pull it away from you to release the IDT™system
slowly upward.
