How does the ordinary overlock foot attach?

Native snap-on feet. The ordinary overlock foot releases from the ankle with the rear button and snaps back into the ankle groove by aligning the foot pin below it and lowering the presser foot.
This proves the OEM procedure for the documented foot and ankle only; optional or third-party foot fit is not established.
Use 1.0 for normal overlock sewing; move toward 2.0 if fabric stretches and toward 0.7 if it gathers, then test-sew for the material and desired effect.
The setting depends on material and the desired amount of stretch or gathering.
Unplug the machine, open the front cover, and brush lint forward with the lint brush; overlock cutting produces enough lint to require more frequent cleaning than a conventional sewing machine.
How should presser-foot pressure be adjusted?: Decrease presser-foot pressure for lightweight fabric and increase it for heavyweight fabric, making small changes and test-sewing before the project.

Which needle system applies?: Use SINGER Overlock needles EL x 705.
Which needle sizes apply?: The manual lists EL x 705 sizes 80/12, 90/14, and 100/16; select among them for the fabric and stitch rather than treating one size as universal.
Which way do the needles face?: Insert each needle fully with its flat surface to the back; with both needles installed, the left needle sits slightly higher than the right.

How should lint be cleaned out?: Unplug the machine, open the front cover, and brush lint forward with the lint brush; overlock cutting produces enough lint to require more frequent cleaning than a conventional sewing machine.
What owner oiling is required?: Lubricate the marked moving parts after every 24 hours of use with sewing-machine oil, then wipe away excess oil before sewing.
How is a blunt stationary cutter handled?: A blunt stationary cutter can be replaced using the documented set-screw and holder procedure; consult a service agent if adjustment is difficult.
Turn off the main power switch and unplug the machine before doing any maintenance.
